Doodle Jump: Space Chase

Each planet in the game wanted to have a very different yet alien feel to it. Through concepting and iteration we worked with the client to achieve a cartoony colourful environment that the player can jump in to. Limiting each planets colour palette also meant that when unlocking new planets it had a big impact as it would be starkly different to the previous ones.
When creating the assets I used two UV maps, one for the base colours and the other that added extra detail that complimented the outline shader we used in the game.
I created the characters that drove the narrative element of the game. Based on initial concepts I modeled, rigged and animated each character so that they would have different and engaging personalities.
Additionally we wanted them to help guide the player throughout the FTUX, I decided to break up the animations when exporting and rebuild them in Unity. This way we could have multiple states (e.g. talking and walking) that we blend between so designers could trigger animations when necessary and it look natural no matter what they are doing at the time.
